Directors notes
1923-2013 Born in London, Val Bennett currently lived in Powys, South Wales. He was fascinated by the beauty of Wildfowl from an early age and began making models in 1950. He was commissioned the following year to make a set of birds for the Festival of Britain Exhibition, but it was not until 1973, after a career in the aircraft industry, that he decided to make a new full time career in the artistic field. Since 1976 he has been a regular exhibitor at the British Game Fair, as well as Maryland’s Waterfowl Festival. Exhibitions of his work have been held in London, Paris, Holland and Guernsey.

Bennett, Val

Artist Val Bennett was born in London in 1923 and educated at Winchester College.  From a young age he was drawn to nature and the outdoors and studied natural history and painting.
