An 18ct White Gold, Diamond and Rock Crystal ‘Myst de Cartier’ Ring

A white gold and diamond ‘Myst de Cartier’ ring by Cartier c.1990s, the bombe shaped ring of 18ct white gold set to the front with seven rows of round brilliant cut diamonds in pavé setting, all beneath a polished dome of colourless, transparent rock crystal quartz, set flush in to the gold to form a seamless join between gemstone and metal, the band tapering down in plain polished white gold. The ring has a wonderfully mystical appearance with the rock crystal acting to magnify the diamonds and the stones seeming to appear and disappear as the ring is turned. The finish is very smooth and tactile whilst the design gives it a casual yet sophisticated feel.
