An stunning pair of diamond and gold hoop earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels, c.2000, the elongated oval hoops in 18ct yellow gold, the front channel set with a row of horizontal baguette cut diamonds and the inside back part of the hoop set with a row of round brilliant cut diamonds, this design means that when viewed from the front the earrings appear fully diamond set with a contrast of shapes, all to clip fittings meaning they can be worn by pieced and non-pierced ears alike.

On June 16th 1906 Van Cleef & Arpels opened the doors to their first boutique at number 22, Place Vendôme. Next door to Lalique, opposite the Ritz and a stones throw from Boucheron, this would prove to be the first of many boutiques that the highly successful Maison would open around the world during the 20th Century.
