A beautiful vintage gold and diamond bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels c. 1960s of stylised leaf twist design formed of ten uniform articulated motifs in textured fluted gold, each three-dimensional curled leaf with a central vein running through it, three links are decorated with round brilliant diamonds, the remaining three leaves are unadorned, all in 18ct yellow gold with concealed tongue and box clasp and safety catch. This wonderful bracelet has an almost sculptural quality to it and the undulating form of the curled and twisting leaf motifs creates a lovely naturalistic sense of movement to the piece despite its stylised form. The emerald and diamond highlights add colour and sparkle and the overall effect is really very beautiful.

On June 16th 1906 Van Cleef & Arpels opened the doors to their first boutique at number 22, Place Vendôme. Next door to Lalique, opposite the Ritz and a stones throw from Boucheron, this would prove to be the first of many boutiques that the highly successful Maison would open around the world during the 20th Century.
