An elegant pair of vintage diamond and sapphire leaf earrings by Van Cleef & Arpels c.1970s, each designed as an asymmetric curved leaf with pointed tip and pavé set throughout with round brilliant cut diamonds, the stalk set with baguette sapphires in a channel setting, to post and clip fittings. The diamonds are of varying sizes and are all high quality, bright and lively, the sapphires are deep blue and provide a lovely contrast to the diamonds and gold. Next door to Lalique, opposite the Ritz and a stones throw from Boucheron, this would prove to be the first of many boutiques that the highly successful Maison would open around the world during the 20th Century.
