A Round Brilliant Diamond And Three Colour Gold Butterfly Brooch

A beautiful and unusual diamond and gold butterfly brooch c.1960s, the body in white gold pavé set throughout with round brilliant diamonds, the head set with a single diamond and with short, curled antennae and the legs with a gently textured finish, the wings formed of rose gold with a pattern in yellow gold and with a finely textured matte finish with an almost sandblasted appearance, all to a single pin fitting on the reverse. This lovely butterfly brooch is wonderfully tactile, the finish on the wings looks almost like velvet and it catches the light softly as the piece is turned. The diamonds are all high quality and well matched and the sparkle contrasts with the matte wings and adds life to the brooch.
