A Vintage Coral, Diamond and 18ct Yellow Gold Brooch

An 18ct yellow gold, coral and diamond brooch by Kutchinsky 1969. The clip brooch is a star-burst design and formed of a central cluster of round brilliant cut diamonds in claw settings within an organic textured gold surround. Eight pieces of carved and polished orange coral are set surrounding the central cluster, each also framed in the textured yellow gold. The reverse is a double pin clip fitting as well as a pendant loop which is not visible from the front of the brooch.

Kutchinsky

The Kutchinsky business was established in 1893 when Hirsch Kutchinsky arrived in England having fled Poland along with his son Morris and other members of the family.  They brought with them many years of experience in the trade, having served as jewellers to the court of Ludwig of Bavaria, and wasted no time in setting up a jewellery manufacturing company in the East End of London.
