A Classic Vintage 18ct Gold Chaine d’Ancre Bracelet With Toggle Clasp

A classic bold and stylish vintage gold Chaîne d’ancre bracelet by Hermès c.1970s designed as a row of uniform oval ‘anchor’ links each of which is divided in half with a gold bar and terminated with a T-bar one end and large circular ring the other to form a toggle clasp, all in 18ct yellow gold. This now iconic bracelet was designed in 1938 when, according to Hermes, “Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family, decided to take inspiration from a ship anchor chain to design a bracelet. Thus the Chaîne d’ancre was born: a naturally balanced jewel with a sporty yet chic allure.” The motif has been used in a multitude of ways but the bracelet was the original jewel and it is now an iconic Hermes piece. This bracelet comes in different sized links and this is the large version, it has a lovely weight and presence and is the epitome of casual chic. With original black suede bracelet box.
