A charming gold moth clip brooch by Georges Lenfant for Hermes c.1950s. The naturalistically modelled brooch formed in 18ct yellow gold and depicting a moth with wings outspread, all finely scored with finely engraved lines, the body and head made of short sections of gold wire to create a soft fluffy appearance, the curved antennae with feathery appearance, to a double pin clip fitting on the reverse. This lovely moth brooch has been thoughtfully designed and beautifully made, the different finishes of the gold cleverly creating different textures. It would look perfect perched on a lapel, as if briefly alighting before flying off again.
