A Stunning Diamond and Platinum Floral Spray Brooch

A stunning diamond and platinum floral spray brooch by Hennell circa 1925, of naturalistic design and formed of a primary cup shaped flower with a smaller second one beneath it, behind which curl three elongated pointed leaves with a single stalk at the bottom, the brooch set throughout with old cut diamonds, enhanced by single and rose cuts and with a few baguette cuts to provide contrast, all in platinum to a long curved single pin brooch fitting on the reverse. This fitting is removable and the brooch splits into two halves both of which have separate smaller fittings to enable it to be worn either as one whole piece or two smaller ones. The quality of both the design and execution of this beautiful jewel shows wonderful care and craftsmanship. The curve of a petal, twist of a leaf or the delicacy of the stalk – all create a sense of life and gentle movement to the piece. Its versatility makes it even more wearable, it is a delightful brooch guaranteed to bring much pleasure to its new owner.
