Directors Notes

Georges Braque, a French artist born in 1882, often associated with his influential work in the Cubist genre discovered his love of jewellery design much later on in his life. He died in 1963 and during the final few years of his life he designed wonderfully distinctive, sculptural jewels with Heger de Lôwenfeld, ‘Bijoux de Braque’. All pieces were given mythological names, a total of 113 jewels were designed and sadly both Braque and Lôwenfeld passed away before the limited editions of 75 were completed.
