A Fabulous Vintage Coral, Diamond and Ruby Sautoir Necklace

A fabulous coral, ruby and diamond sautoir necklace by Cartier 1971, the necklace formed of fourteen round cabochons of pale orangey-pink angel-skin coral graduating in size from front to back, each interspersed with four leaf shape motifs centred with a round brilliant diamond, the leaves formed of ribbed 18ct yellow gold and set with either three diamonds or three rubies, from the front is suspended a coral cabochon with seven elongated carved coral drops beneath in a radiating pattern, the largest in the centre graduating smaller around each side. This is quite the statement necklace and really conjures up images of 1970s glamour. The summery colours work well together with the deep red rubies contrasting beautifully with the warmth of the gold and the delicacy of the pale coral, all set off by the bright sparkle of diamonds. Whether you wear it poolside in LA or to a party in London this piece will certainly assure you the bejewelled limelight.
