Directors Notes

Cartier’s mascot, the panther was first seen in 1914. Whilst Louis Cartier was the first to introduce the legendary creature, it was Jeanne Toussaint who went on to make it the iconic motif that it is today, synonymous with the name of Cartier. Toussaint’s nickname even became ‘La Panthère’ such was her influence upon this jewelled legacy. The panther has been reinterpreted and reimagined by Cartier many times over more than a century and it still remains today as highly collectible and sought after as it was when it was first introduced.
