4.21ct Old Mine Cut Diamond and Platinum Solitaire Ring

A beautiful old cut diamond solitaire ring by Cartier c.1920s, set with a wonderful bright and lively cushion shaped old mine brilliant cut diamond weighing 4.21cts and of E colour and VS1 clarity, claw set in platinum to a very simple and elegant platinum mount, with open gallery and D shaped band. This is a such a lovely old cut diamond solitaire, the generous deep proportions of the old mine brilliant with its small table and open culet cause the light to dance through it and the minimal setting does nothing to distract from this. The ring has a romantic, nostalgic quality to it and the Cartier signature only adds to its appeal.
