A Magnificent Natural Pearl and Diamond Brooch

A stunning diamond and pearl brooch by Bulgari c.1960s, the cluster type brooch of stylised snowflake design set to the centre with a wonderful natural saltwater pearl of bouton shape and light brownish colour with rosy pink overtones, surrounded by a frame of alternating round brilliant cut and pear shaped brilliant cut diamonds in claw settings within a second outer frame of round and pear shapes with six larger brilliant cuts forming a pointed shape, all to a double pin brooch fitting and with discreet pig tail fitting to the reverse to allow for a drop to be attached to it. This wonderful brooch recalls the exuberance and style of Bulgari jewellery during the 1960s and 70s when glamorous movie stars such as Elizabeth Taylor were dedicated admirers and wearers of their pieces. The pearl has a beautiful soft colour, iridescence and lustre which contrasts with the bright sparkle of the diamonds. The cluster surround uses the mix of diamond shapes along with negative space to great effect retaining an air of lightness to this truly magnificent jewel.
