Art Nouveau Gold and Natural Pearl Bangle

A decorative Art Nouveau 18ct gold and pearl bangle c.1900, centred with an openwork panel of trefoil design embellished with seven natural creamy-white pearls surrounded by a gold circular frame between tapering openwork shoulders leading to a straight band formed of articulated rectangular sections all with pierced scroll work and floral details, decorated with pearls and with black enamel highlights to a secure tongue and box clasp. This pretty bangle has several hallmarks of Art Nouveau style including the use of sinuous lines, openwork form, floral motifs and simple embellishments in monochrome pearls and enamel, eschewing the use of diamonds and other showier coloured gems. The articulation in the band helps it fit comfortably around the wrist and it looks as good worn over a sleave as it does against the skin. The gold has a lovely rich colour and soft patina and the bracelet comes in its original blue velvet fitted case.
