An Unusual Pair of Hardstone Cameos in Red Velvet Frame

A rare and unusual pair of cameos framed by Cartier, c.1870s. The two cameos carved from black and white banded agate hardstone and depicting ancient Greek theatre masks, one for tragedy and the other comedy, set into a red velvet custom made picture frame with stand and hanging loop to the reverse which is in matching red silk and with Cartier, 9 Bd Des Italiens in gold lettering.
