An 18ct Gold and Stainless Steel Open Sprung Cuff Bangle

A stylish gold and steel cuff bangle by Bulgari c.1980s, the cuff of overall zig zag design formed of two uniform rows of 18ct yellow gold arrow shaped motifs interspersed with stainless steel motifs that fit flush in between each gold one, the back of the bracelet is open and the whole is gently sprung to aid putting on and taking off. The bangle is very smooth and comfortable to wear, it slips on and off easily but is very secure on the wrist. This combination of metals is a classic Bulgari look and is a bold and stylish design.

In 1880 a young Greek silversmith, Sotirios Boulgaris, arrived in Italy looking to build a new life. It didn’t take him long to establish himself and after a couple of false starts he opened his eponymous shop on Via Sistina in Rome in 1884.  He Italianised his name to Sotirio Bulgari and the firm that would eventually come to represent the very essence of ‘la dolce vita’ was born.
