A Stunning En Tremblant Diamond Floral Tiara
A beautiful contemporary en tremblant diamond and platinum floral tiara by E. Wolfe & Co., the tiara shaped as a wide openwork band with tapering ends and of asymmetrical design, formed of delicate floral and foliate sprays, set to the centre with a large fully open five petalled wild rose set en tremblant with two further matching rose motifs, one to each side, also en tremblant, all finely hand crafted in platinum and fully pavé set with round brilliant cut diamonds and with pear shaped diamonds weighing a combined total of 22.50cts, to a velvet covered band. The tiara detaches from its frame and converts to a necklace using the accompanying diamond-set back chain, the three principle wild rose motifs also detach and the large one can be worn as a brooch whilst the slightly smaller pair become earrings with post and clip fittings. The tiara has a wonderful naturalistic form with its asymmetry and the fluid undulating movement of the stems. The design dates back to 1904 and was found in one of the many sketchbooks in the E. Wolfe archive, it was updated to include the en tremblant fittings which enhance the beauty of the tiara by breathing life and movement into it when worn.
