A stunning late Victorian rubellite tourmaline and diamond pendant necklace c.1900, the front set with fifteen graduated cushion-shaped rubellite tourmalines of intense deep pink colour in claw settings interspersed with small old European brilliant cut diamonds, the central stone suspending a detachable fluted diamond-set drop with pear-shaped tourmaline, all to a fine decorative back chain of alternating gold and silver links, to a barrel clasp embellished with tiny rose-cut diamonds.
