Directors Notes
This magnificent suite was originally the property of Oscar winning actress Joan Crawford. Born Lucille Fay LeSueur, Crawford had a remarkable 50 year career in film, and became an avid collector of fine jewellery. She wore this suite of necklace, bracelet and brooch in the 1939 film The Women, in which she starred alongside Norma Shearer, and it is often described as Crawford’s favourite piece of jewellery.
